Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Pella Historical Museums throw a celebration for Wyatt Earp?
It may seem unbelievable, but Wyatt Earp actually grew up in Pella! He lived in Pella from 1849 to 1856, and then again from 1859 to 1864. In fact, during their last three years in Pella, the Earp family lived in a house that is now part of the Historical Village, still in its original location. The home is open to museum visitors to take a self-guided audio tour of the Wyatt Earp Experience.
When and where is Wyatt Earp Day held?
Wyatt Earp Day is in the Historical Village, located at 507 Franklin Street, in late September of each year.
